Leh, Kargil receive Rs 56.97 crore under Corporate Social Responsibility: Centre | KNO

Srinagar, Feb 09 (KNO): Leh and Kargil districts in the Union Territory of Ladakh received over Rs 56.97 crore under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives during the last three financial years, the Government informed the Lok Sabha. Replying to a question by MP Mohmad Haneefa, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, Leh received Rs 42.14 crore, Kargil Rs 7.59 crore, while Rs 7.23 crore was shown under unclassified districts. In Leh, CSR funds were mainly spent on education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, sports promotion and livelihood projects, while in Kargil, spending focused on healthcare, education, vocational skills and drinking water. The Government clarified that CSR spending is a board-driven process and companies are not directed to prioritise any specific region, including Ladakh—(KNO)
